A new example of a richly decorated house revealed during the excavations currently underway in the Insula of the Casa dei Casti Amanti, in the central district of the ancient city of Pompeii.The striking feature of the house is the exceptional quality of the wall paintings. The immediate impression of the room is that too many conservation treatments seem to have been executed, since the colours appear too brilliant and the outlining of details is hard and not authentic. The total impression is that of standing in front of a fake.
