After quite some time Cuní's Medium is finally bac After quite some time Cuní's Medium is finally back in stock!! Mix medium with Cuni colours to create glazes, extend colours, enhance gloss and translucency and increasing flexibility and adhesion to the surface. Mix it with the desired pigment to create a new water soluble encaustic colour. Diluted with water and applied to the support or the priming, the medium provides a waxy surface that allows a smooth paint application. Beloved by many artists for its versatility, the beeswax based paint medium is composed of nontoxic products, accepted in cosmetics and food. No hazardous solvents are required. Get it whilst the stock lasts!! 😃 #paintmedium #cunicolours #watersoluble #encaustic #artistpaint #beeswax

The brilliant history of cobalt blueDid you know The brilliant history of cobalt blueDid you know that cobalt blue has been coloring our world for centuries? This rich, deep pigment was first used in ancient China for blue-and-white porcelain as early as the 8th century. But it wasn’t until 1802 that cobalt blue was officially discovered and synthesized by French chemist Louis Jacques Thénard.Valued for its intense, stable hue, cobalt blue quickly became a favorite among artists.Unlike other blue pigments, cobalt blue doesn’t fade over time — making it a true classic in both art and design. 💎#pedrocuni #cunicolours #ArtHistory #CobaltBlue #ColorStory #PigmentHistory #ArtLovers #BlueIsTheColor

Bold and relaxed all at once — this stunning sketc Bold and relaxed all at once — this stunning sketch by Adele Wagstaff, painted with Cuni colours, features a male figure sprawled effortlessly in an armchair. His pose is pure ease, but the brushstrokes are anything but calm — energetic, expressive, and full of life. Contrasting colors bring tension and depth to the moment of stillness. A beautiful balance between rest and raw energy.@AdeleWagstaff #FigureSketch #WatersolubleEncaustic #ExpressiveArt #cunicolours #coldwax #coldwaxpainting #encaustic #beeswaxpainting
Who needs a sky when you've got Phthalo Blue? You Who needs a sky when you've got Phthalo Blue? You’ve probably caked it on your palette, bled it into your brushes, and cursed when it went too intense—but let’s be honest, that rich, almost-electric blue is a total game-changer. Born in the ’30s, Phthalo Blue (aka copper phthalocyanine PB‑15) stormed into artists’ studios like a rock star—lightfast, high‑tinting, and endlessly mixable.
A little dab blends into dreamy teals or deep violets.
A lot? Blue domination—your skies will glow, your oceans will pop.
 Tip: This stuff’s potent—start small, add white for balance or go bold and let it sing#phthaloblue #cunicolours #watersolubleencaustic #encaustic #coldwax #beeswaxpainting #loveblue

Meet green cinnabar — the unexpected twist on the Meet green cinnabar — the unexpected twist on the classic red pigment. Rare, moody, and a bit mysterious, this green beauty showed up in ancient works when chemistry got weird (and wonderful).Green cinnabar wasn’t made on purpose at first — it sometimes formed through chemical reactions. But later, alchemists tried to recreate it. Why? Because it glowed with a depth regular greens couldn’t match.

Pompeii relives its last day: Discoveries in the H Pompeii relives its last day: Discoveries in the House of Helle and Phrixus reveal a desperate attempt at survival. The scene is heartbreaking—a bed placed crosswise to block the entrance to a bedroom, a desperate gesture by its occupants to protect themselves from the rain of lapilli—fragments of volcanic rock—that fell mercilessly during the initial phases of the eruption. Nearby, the remains of at least four individuals, including a child, whose bulla—a bronze amulet worn by Roman boys until adulthood—lies as a silent testimony to a life cut short. The name of the domus comes from a mural found in the triclinium, depicting the Greek myth of Phrixus and Helle. The masterfully rendered scene captures the tragic moment when Helle, sister of Phrixus, falls into the sea during their escape on the back of the winged ram Chrysomallos.Like other mural paintings in Pompeii, the House of Helle and Prixius was probably painted using the water soluble encaustic technique.#watersolubleencaustic #pompei #romanpainting #coldwaxpainting #beeswaxpainting
